- First, turn off the water supplies to the faucet.
- After you have successfully shut off your water supplies to the faucet you will need to open the hot and cold handle to release all water that may be left inline.
- Insert the Allen wrench provided into the handles set screw (which can be found just below the lever on the handle) and turn counter-clockwise, Note that not all lever handles have a set screw some may have a hot or cold index button that will need to be removed in order to get to the handle screw. Once the set screw/ screws are loose you will be able to remove the handle by pulling towards yourself.
- After the handle is removed and placed into a box for your parts so they do not get lost you will need to remove the cartridge cover by hand by turning it counterclockwise and place it in your box also. Please be careful if you are to use any tools in removing the cartridge cover as any tool may scratch the finish of your item and void the warranty.
- Now that the handle and cartridge cover is in your box of parts you will be able to remove the cartridge with an adjustable wrench. Fit the adjustable to the cartridge and turn counterclockwise until the cartridge is loose. After you feel the cartridge loosen from the valve continue removing by hand.
- Take your new cartridge and screw this item into the valve by hand. When the cartridge is hand tight take your adjustable wrench and fit it to the cartridge again and turn ¼ of a turn. Please note that over-tightening the cartridge may defect the cartridge and the function of the faucet.
- Grab your cartridge cover and fit it over the cartridge and hand tighten it to the valve.
Please note that the cartridge cover will only need to be hand tightened please do not use any tools to secure this item. - Now take your handle and place it onto the cartridge. There are notches inside the handle that will fit on the broaches of the cartridge, you can fit the handle to your preferred angle. Recommended for the off position is the handle in the horizontal position. Re-tighten the set screw with the supplied Allen wrench.
