- First, turn off the water supplies to the faucet.
- After you have successfully shut off your water supplies to the faucet you will need to open the handle to release all water that may be left inline.
- Insert the Allen wrench provided into the handles set screw (which can be found just below the lever on the handle) and turn to the left, Once the set screw is loose you will be able to remove the handle by pulling up.
- Remove the handle and place it in a box so that the parts do not disappear. The handle flange should be able to be unthreaded by hand from the faucet body. Once you have removed the handle flange the cartridge locknut should still be attached to the handle flange, you will also want to unthread the cartridge locknut from the handle flange and place both parts into your box.
- After the handle flange and cartridge locknut are removed you will see a plastic cartridge cover. Grab the cartridge cover pull it up and place it inside your box of parts. You will now see the faucets stainless steel ball cartridge and you will be able to remove it by pulling up on its stem.
- Now that the cartridge is no longer in the faucet you will notice a pair of seats and spring. You may remove it by inserting a Phillips head screwdriver into the center of the rubber seat. Below the rubber seat, you will find a spring, this piece will also need to be removed. Also, pay attention to the way that the spring is inserted with the larger part facing down.
- Take your new stainless steel ball cartridge out of your box and reinsert it by fitting the slit that is on the ball and fit it with the notch inside the valve body.
- Grab your handle flange out of your box and place it above the cartridge cover. You will need to push down on the cartridge cover while retightening the handle flange by turning it to the right. Now take your cartridge locknut and place it above the handle flange. You can tighten this item by using a box cutter and inserting it into the notches on the cartridge locknut and turning about a ¼ turn or until snug.
- Now take your handle out of your box and cover the cartridge locknut. Adjust your handle to your desired position. Grab your Allen wrench from the box and retighten the set screw found below the lever of the handle and retighten by turning to the right.
