When installing waste & overflow drains or other fixtures, you will need to customize the tube fittings. Most likely, you would be hiring a professional to complete the job.
General Rule of Thumb: Always trim longer than needed and gradually trim down to desired length.
Once tubes are cut too SHORT, they will need to be replaced/purchased again.
Based on the type of material, there are different types of tube cutters designed to do the job - please make sure the correct tool is used.
1. Right size tool
2. Measure for straight cuts
3. Ensure the cut is as straight as possible
4. Follow protocol and safety instruction against the tool
5. With a score first, then follow through, and reduce speed at the end for a clean cut
6. Use deburring tool to clean the edges
