When the water is turned on, the sprayer doesn’t have enough pressure to get much of anything wet. It is caused by the diverter valve is clogged with mineral deposits or rust that reduced the water flow in your faucet. Following actions may solve the problem. Please be aware that this method is not effective to none mineral clogging. Before you operate this tip, we strongly recommend you to operate this tip inside a sink and with proper safety prevention to your eyes and nose by wearing a goggles or mask if needed and get it out from reach of children.
For models that spout can be released easily:
- Start by shut off the hot and cold water supply, you may need to use an adjustable wrench to shut it if it is too tight to shut off by hand.
- Open the hot and cold faucet to drain out any water.
- Release the sprayer hose from the spout tee.
- Remove the spout from the faucet body by hand or tool.
- Fill in vinegar to the water diverter till half full condition.
- Clean the diverter valve with vinegar and a soft brush.
- However if the mineral clog is heavy to remove, keep the vinegar inside the diverter for 12 hours or more to work as dissolvent.
- Leak the vinegar out from the diverter.
- Install the spout to the faucet.
- Turn on the water supply and flush it for one minute to clean of any debris and mineral deposit.
For models that spout can’t be released easily:
- Start by shut off hot and cold water supply, you may need to use an adjustable wrench to loose the shut off handle.
- Open the hot and cold faucet to drain out any water.
- Unplug the flexible hoses from the supply shank side port of spout tee.
- Remove the spout tee from spout shank and mounting washer and lock nut from the faucet.
- Remove the faucet from the sink and put it into the sink.
- Reverse the faucet to upside down and use something to hold/secure it at this condition.
- Turn off both cartridges to prevent leak.
- Clean the diverter valve with vinegar and a soft brush. Skip 9 to 10. However if the mineral clog is heavy go to step 9.
- Fill vinegar as dissolvent of mineral clogs into waterway for 12 to 24 hours to remove the stubborn mineral clogs.
- Leak the vinegar out from the faucet and make sure the diverter area is clean.
- Reversing the faucet back to original upright position.
- Place mounting washer on spout shank and attached with spout shank lock nut.
- Connect the flexible tubes from supply shank side port to the spout tee, reattach the supply lines.
- Connect the sprayer hose back to the spout tee.
- Turn on the water supply and flush for at least one minute to clean of any debris and mineral deposit.
Remark: The faucet diverter is located near the base and in the front, locates a small spring- loaded device sticking out from the faucet body. This is the diverter valve that senses a change in water pressure and sends the water to the spray nozzle when the trigger is pressed.
