There are times when the spout won’t align correctly with the faucet body. Damages to the threading or just bad threading in general can be one of the major causes. A simple solution for this problem is first to not over tighten the spout, this may lead to scratches, cracks, and even leaks from the faucet.
- Wrap 4-5 turns of Teflon tape onto the thread of the spout.
- Install the spout onto the body by hand and tighten carefully until the spout is aligned with the body.
- Over tightening and/or forcing the spout will cause damages that may lead to leaks.
- The spout just needs to be tight enough that it is firm and won’t leak when turned on.
- Adjust as necessary, there may be more Teflon tape that needs to be applied.
