The small hole opposite the handle tip is known as a weep hole ,It’s main purpose is to allow the discharge of dirty water coming from your RO system, this dirty water is a residue created by your RO system, it is designed to go up to the faucet and then drain into your kitchen sink drain pipe, because the line is only ¼” in diameter from time to time it might get clogged up from normal build up, and water will start backing up in this small line, to prevent it from going into your potable water system, our faucets have a one way valve system that doesn’t allow the water to backflow any further, and thus discharge through the weep hole, if you are having this issue, we recommend:
- If you notice that this is happening frequently – please call professional to have your system checked.
- Or you may check from below to make sure the line is not kinked or obstructed by another component under the sink
- You can also disconnect the line that goes into the drain and unclog it by inserting a small wire inside the line to clear any obstructions, or try inserting a compressed air duster into the line an attempt to clear the blockage that way, this can be done by inserting the tip of the compressed air can into the weep hole from above or from below inside the discharge line
